Website Design Training

Website Design TrainingYou're thinking that it is odd for a web design firm to offer web design training. Read on!

We primarily offer web design training to two groups of folks: clients with their own websites and other web designers. For clients, it makes a lot of sense. If you can update your website yourself, you don't have to pay a web design firm every time you need to make a change to your website. You're thinking, "but how does that make sense if you are the web design company?"

Our goal is always and utmost the satisfaction and service of our customers. We prefer our clients to have a strong sense of autonomy - we want you to be able to edit your website yourself, and we're happy to help you learn how. It's much more efficient, and we just love efficiency! And it makes our clients happy!

We also offer training to other web designers. It's much better to collaborate then compete, don't you think? And every web designer knows something that another one doesn't - we often learn just as much during our training sessions as our client web designers do. It helps build bridges between companies. For example, at White Crossroads, we don't currently offer ColdFusion coding or support. But we have a collaborative relationship with another firm in down that does, and we're happy to recommend them to you if you need ColdFusion support. It works both ways, and we often receive referrals or inquiries from our web designer clients on projects that they're not able to service.

What kind of web design training, exactly?

White Crossroads Offers Web Design Training in Dreamweaver, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Expression Web, Joomla and Host Specific Content Management Systems. We adapt our training to your existing website, if you have one. You might have a site that was built in a Dreamweaver CS3 template, so we'll recommend that you purchase Dreamweaver CS3 or newer for maximum compatibility. Or you might have a site that was built using your host's specific software, like GoDaddy's Website Tonight or 1&1's Site Builder.

For new websites or for web designers, we suggest that you use Dreamweaver CS4, CS3, or any other version. Mac or PC. Then SharePoint Designer or Microsoft Expression Web. And yes, we can also support FrontPage, but we strongly recommend Dreamweaver or SharePoint Designer instead, and we'll be happy to explain why, just ask!

We encourage the use of templates and CSS, and offer in-depth training on both. In the long run, they're most efficient for your website needs.

We also offer Joomla training, Flash, PhotoShop, Illustrator and various e-commerce shopping cart systems. Inquire for specifics. Our coding staff can providing training and support for a variety of coding languages, including PHP, ASPX, Java and so forth.
